With over 250 shows performed in the last year alone things have been moving extremely quickly and its time for the site to catch up! Festival dates and A NEW RECORDING are on their way! In the meantime follow along at Bobby’s Facebook page for local dates and fresh info.
The past two months have afforded me some incredible experiences and opportunities to share my music and perform at some very special events and venues. Combined with the release of my debut EP “Aesthetics” on iTunes and Spotify there has never been a more exciting time for me and my music! June found me performing in New York City for the first time at the Bushwick Public house as well as the historic Jazz Cafe at Music Hall. July featured my second show at the House of Blues in Cleveland. I also had the privilege to be a part of the Milan Singer Songwriter festival. August carries on the excitement with another show at Jazz Cafe and my debut at the River Rasin Jazz Festival. Today I’m happy to announce I’ll be wrapping up summer 2016 in style with two Labor Day weekend festival dates. I’ve been invited to perform at the Lake Bonisteel Music associations BlueChiliGrass festival in Port Huron and finally I’ll be headlining the acoustic stage at Arts Beats & Eats 2016 along with other great artists such as Our Lady Peace, JR JR, Joan Jett, Three Dog Night, Gavin DeGraw and Buckcherry! With over 380,000 attendees this is one the largest annual music festivals in the state of Michigan. I hope to see many of you out at these shows as I introduce my new songs and collaborators!
I am proud to announce that my EP record “Aesthetics” will be released for streaming (Spotify, Deezer, Tidal) Saturday May 14th and the full record will be available for download (Itunes, Google Play, Amazon Music) on Thursday June 23rd! It’s been a long time coming and I’m very excited to share my first collection of music with people around the world. Physical copies will still be available as well at all of my shows. To mark the occasion I will be performing special concerts including the historic Jazz Cafe at Music Hall Detroit and I’ll be making my way to New York City! This is the culmination of years of work and I could never have done it without my family, friends, and YOU! Stay tuned for more news about where and when you can catch me and my music!
As we here in Michigan shovel away what we always hope is the last snowfall of the season our thoughts turn to warmer times. The sun, the beach, the music. As much as I love the first two it is the music I can’t wait to tell you about! I’ve been working hard at putting the finishing touches on my new collection of music as well as finding new and exciting places to bring it to you. In the coming weeks I’ll be using this site as well as my Facebook and Instagram to announce spring and summer club dates as well as festivals. Bringing my work to new places and making connections with new people is the goal of my work and 2016 will see it spread further than ever before. See you on the road!
As the summer rolls along it’s important for me to stop and appreciate all the exciting things that have taken place for myself and my music over the past few months. My work has taken me all over the beautiful state of Michigan and beyond to perform for amazing people at incredible events. From the intimacy of wedding ceremonies in castles, to the insanity of 50,000 new friends at Electric Forest, my music has been framed in ways that I had only dreamt of previously.
This summer has also shown me that there’s no time to slow down or stop. With increased interest in my e.p. AESTHETICS, I’ll be moving forward with making that music available online, and next month I will enter the studio again to begin recording music for a new album. A full album. I am also actively pursuing label support from some of my instrumental music heroes.
As always, I am eternally grateful to the folks who listen to my music and support my work; and, I will continue working hard to produce quality art to show my appreciation. I hope some of you take the opportunity to catch one of my many public performances which include collaborations with some of the areas most talented players. Information on these events can be found in the calendar area of this site. As always, please feel free to reach out with ideas or places you’d like to see me perform next!
As was announced a couple weeks ago I’ve been added to the lineup at Electric Forest Festival in Rothbury, Michigan June 25th-28th. This is a huge opportunity on a huge stage. With annual turnout over 30,000 and a massive lineup up of national acts like Yonder Mountain String Band, Skrillex, Keller Williams, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, Lindsey Sterling, Paul Oakenfold and BASSNECTAR it promises to be a weekend of music quite unlike any other. I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it this time. And I couldn’t be more ready! After an overwhelming reaction from fans once the announcement was made on the Electric Forest Facebook page I’ve been scheduled to play a full hour long set on the beautiful Forest stage from 1:15-2:15 sunday June 28th. Not only that but I’ve been assigned a rogue set earlier in the festival as part of The Grande Artique deep in the Sherwood Forest along with some of the other festival acts. Clues as to where and when exactly you will be able to see my rogue set as well as how to join my friends and I will be coming both here and on my Facebook page and Instagram. While tickets to the festival sold out in less than 24 hours back in February some are still available through Stub-Hub and various Facebook groups. Stay tuned for more details as well as pictures and video on my Instagram. See you in the forest!
On most friday nights I can be found plying my trade on stage at Rusted Crow distillery in Dearborn Heights. With friends behind the bar and new friends waiting to be found each week is an adventure at the spot that has become my home away from home and the best place to hear my music as well as the hits.
Everything from the liquors to the syrups are made in house from the freshest ingredients. Like jars of fruit fresh. The Rusted Crow stage also hosts some of Detroit’s finest solo acts like Josh Stokes and Neenuh of Buffalo Riders fame. Fridays 9-midnight is my slot but if we’re rolling music goes later.
Check out what Drink Michigan has to say:
“A fully functioning, small craft distillery (with giant aspirations) located in Dearborn Heights. Here, they try to bring the sometimes pretentious art of craft distilling down to earth. They are currently distilling vodka (Detroit Steam Vodka), Rum (Davy Jones Rum) and Gin (Ginstache Gin) with Moonshine (Murder Mitten Moonshine) currently in production. Using unique methods;they create delicious spirits that are as detailed as their bottle artwork. The beautiful artwork that adorns each bottle is a consistent topic of conversation by those who visit the distillery and the one of a kind labels were designed by the owner himself. The tasting room features a small seasonal menu of delicious craft cocktails that offer the best way to experience their ultra-smooth spirits no matter what Mother Nature has dealt us outdoors.”

Put together a new video of “The Seven Month Itch” for consideration to perform at the Electric Forest music festival as their Instrumental Forester. Held in Rothbury, Michigan the 3-day camping, music and art festival attracts tens of thousands each summer. Here’s to hoping! In any case give it a watch and let me know what you think and as always share it with your friends.
